What does an information architect intern do?

An Information Architect Intern helps design and organize the structure and navigation of websites, apps, or digital platforms to ensure that users can easily find information. Their responsibilities often include creating sitemaps, wireframes, and user flow diagrams, as well as conducting user research and testing. They work closely with UX/UI designers, developers, and content strategists to improve the overall user experience. These competencies ensure the creation of intuitive, user-centered information structures that enhance digital product usability and accessibility.

What types of projects and team collaborations can an information architect intern expect during their internship?

As an Information Architect Intern, you’ll typically work on projects involving the organization of website or application content, creating wireframes, and developing site maps to improve user navigation. You’ll collaborate closely with UX designers, developers, and content strategists to ensure information is structured in a way that enhances usability. Interns often participate in user research activities, gather feedback, and help refine information flows based on real user needs.
