Job Summary (Data Engineer – Informatica PowerCenter, HHSC, State of Texas)
- Project Leadership & Technical Guidance
- Serve as a technical leader within an agile development team, leading projects and mentoring team members.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design sessions, and sprint ceremonies.
- Data Integration & ETL Development
- Develop and automate ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter/IICS.
- Acquire and integrate data from multiple sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, PDF).
- Design and develop complex SQL scripts (Oracle/Snowflake) for transforming data into dimensional models and creating database views.
- Automation & Programming
- Automate data validation and verification processes.
- Develop scripts and code using Python, Java, JavaScript, and C#.
- Build CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub and Git Actions.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with architects, other data engineers, and stakeholders to design and implement optimal data solutions.
- Work with customers to develop mockups and validate solutions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and diagrams.
- System Analysis & Problem Solving
- Analyze user requirements and business processes to identify solutions and improvements.
- Conduct studies and cost/benefit analyses of alternatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to data integration and system performance.
- Operations & Support
- Provide operational support and enhancements for the data integration hub.
- Assist with the implementation and configuration of development tools.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with security principles, especially regarding healthcare data (PII/PHI).
- Adhere to best practices in software development, technical writing, and agile methodologies.
