Job description

This is a virtual role open to candidates working from Oregon or Washington. While the position is primarily virtual, there may be occasions when onsite work is required at a designated Legacy Health location. 

All new hires are required to travel to a Legacy Health office in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date to complete a newhire health assessment and newhire paperwork. Initial training and orientation may be conducted onsite before transitioning to the remote schedule.

This Applications Analyst III supports several non-clinical, business applications including Infor (Finance/Supply Chain), GHX, Strata, and MyTime/Symplr. The role is focused on supporting IT solutions for business departments including Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, People and Culture (HR), Payroll, and Staffing and Scheduling with both IT and business skills.
Applicants should have great interpersonal and analytical skills, with a technical background.  Successful candidates will have proficiencies in aforementioned platform brands and technologies, including MS SQL, IPA, and Infor OS and are preferred.  This role is responsible for maintaining the relationship between contracted vendor support and business stakeholders.

With a strong customer service orientation, expert in analysis, design, implementation and support of new information systems and changes to existing information systems and a high degree of autonomy: 

  • Collaboratively, with users and IS peers, works to understand and capture business needs and to develop requirements and detailed specifications for moderately complex applications.
  • Analyzes and documents application processes and functions.
  • Defines design alternatives and recommendations, often in collaboration with business partners or vendors.
  • Builds or configures systems.
  • Develops and executes test scripts to ensure software accuracy, completion and validity.
  • Develops IS internal procedures and documentation.
  • Works with customer to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and provide production support.
  • Communicates with customers regarding the status and completion of requests, in an agreed-upon, timely manner and/or in accordance with an applicable Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Documents in the ITSM system to define standards.
  • Thoroughly and diligently follows change control processes, when applicable.
  • Follows IS-defined support model and expectations in communicating with customers.
  • Proactively mentors teammates.
  • Effectively facilitates large group meetings, discussions, or workgroups with peers, customers and/or vendors to drive for results and create momentum for problem solving.
  • May serve on committees or take on other leadership functions, representing the team in broader organizational initiatives.
  • Uses Lean and ITIL principles to investigate and improve existing processes.

Education: 

Bachelor's degree preferred.  Relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

 

Experience: 

5+ years of information technology experience in relevant healthcare or business area.

Has worked as an analyst in a healthcare setting, and/or in a relevant operational area for the position (i.e., Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, etc.), and/or in an information technology role.

 

Skills: 

Highly knowledgeable about key concepts, current developments, and trends in information technology and information systems relevant to the position, including application configuration and layers, system integration, and database fundamentals.

Excels at performing systematic, thorough analysis and problem solving, and consistently initiates client problem resolution.

Strong understanding of system integration key concepts and technical protocols.

Excels at establishing, conceiving and describing systems, designs, flow charts, schedules, and requirements.

Strong interpersonal skills that promote effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including peers, clinicians, and senior leaders.

Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.


Licensure/Certification: 

Professional certifications may be required depending on the specific position, such as ITIL Certified, Microsoft Certified Professional, EHR Certification, or HFMA. Employment in this role requires successfully obtaining Infor certifications in Birst, Infor OS, FSM, HR Talent (HRT), and Payroll within year (1) of the start date.
