Position: Insurance Verifier
Location: Boulder City Hospital - Boulder City, NV
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:
Boulder City Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Insurance Verifier to join our team. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, confirming benefits, and obtaining necessary authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled services. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a solid understanding of insurance processes within a healthcare setting.
General Purpose:
The Insurance Verification Recorder is responsible for verifying insurance, benefits, and obtaining authorizations for patients presenting for services when advance registration notification has not been received for non-emergency services. For emergency services, authorizations are obtained as soon as possible in accordance with individual insurance requirements and hospital policy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits accurately and efficiently
  • Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and services as required
  • Ensure compliance with insurance company guidelines and hospital policies
  • Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and internal departments regarding coverage and authorization status
  • Document all verification and authorization activities in the appropriate systems
  • Assist with resolving insurance-related issues prior to service delivery
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift, walk, carry, and stand as needed
  • Perform all duties accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Meet attendance and reliability standards
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare administration preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
