Pay: 

  • $85,000-$88,000/yr (RN)
  • $70,000-$73,000/yr (LPN)

Schedule: Full Time, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday- Friday (on call availability)

Brandon Wilde has an opportunity available for a hospitality focused Infection Preventionist/Wound Care Nurse. This individual has oversight over all infection control and wound care in the Health Center. Work involves planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the infection control/wound care program to ensure the program is carried out properly, effectively, and efficiently.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research current literature and technical reports to maintain infection control processes to appropriate standards.
  • Communicate compliance related issues to relevant parties.
  • Conduct surveillance and inspection to monitor and ensure consistent adherence to proper procedures within quality standards.
  • Collaborate with and assist supervisors and professionals in training and educating personnel on the importance of required procedures
  • Prepare required reports.
  • Monitor all residents and staff infections, track and oversee reporting of any outbreaks within the facility,
  • Provide consultation on wound care and track wound care and track wounds and skin issues of all types.
  • Provide direct nursing care as needed.
  • Responsible for policies and procedures within the organization related to infection control and employee health.
  • Use epidemiological principles and statistical methods to design, implement and evaluate infection prevention and control strategies.
  • Investigate infection control outbreaks and makes recommendations to address outcomes of out breaks and/or changes in practice(s).

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN or RN nursing license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in healthcare required.
  • Infection Preventionist Certification.
  • BNS degree preferred.  Should have a minimum of one (1) year experience in geriatrics and be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations (OBRA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative, and infection control requirements, OSHA laws and regulations, nursing and medical practices, and guidelines governing long term care.
  • Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
