The Advanced Industrial Engineering Manager plays a dual role as a strategic leader and technical expert, responsible for designing and optimizing production systems, leading process improvement initiatives, and driving long-term operational strategies across the enterprise. This role blends deep technical expertise in Lean and advanced industrial engineering practices with strong team leadership and cross-functional collaboration. The position supports the development and implementation of scalable systems that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and flow in alignment with enterprise-wide growth goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management or a related field. Project Management Certification or Six Sigma Black Belt a plus. Advanced expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Flow & Pull Systems, and Level Loading a plus.
Experience: 6-10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing systems, including 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proven track record of driving both technical and cross-functional improvement initiatives, with experience in large-scale Kaizen events or transformation projects considered a plus. Proficiency in time studies, work measurement, and ergonomics preferred. Skilled at translating data into actionable strategies, with strong communication and leadership abilities. Knowledge of factory simulation software (e.g., FlexSim) preferred, and experience applying Choosing By Advantages (CBA) in decision-making is a plus.
Strong ERP and MES expertise required, with Acumatica experience preferred.
Travel: up to 25% depending on business needs
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of industrial engineers responsible for designing efficient production systems, line balancing, standard work, and optimized material flow across facilities.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced IE methodologies to drive improvements in cycle time, throughput, labor utilization, and overall system performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and ERP teams to align production capabilities with business objectives.
  • Develop data-driven models to simulate production layouts, capacity, and constraints using tools like time studies, value stream mapping, and simulation software.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and implement enterprise-wide process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste and improve flow.
  • Lead complex, cross-site projects such as facility expansions, process re-designs, and technology adoption initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for advanced systems including ERP, MES, factory automation, and digital manufacturing tools.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and operations leaders on industrial engineering tools, problem solving, and high-velocity execution.
  • Evaluate future-state requirements and develop strategic plans to support long-term growth, including workforce planning, space utilization, and technology integration.
  • Participate in capital planning, cost-benefit analysis, and business case development for new investments in tools, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational excellence standards through system design and daily practice.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
