Job description

SUMMARY:
 
Responsible for operation of the Sheet Extrusion, Multi-Functional Coating (MFC) and related operations.  This role directly supervises all assigned employees in the Extrusion and MFC area, including Sheet Leadhands, Operators, Assistants, Utility, Coordinators and MFC personnel. 
 KEY DUTIES:
  • Direct the weekly operations within the area of supervision.    
  • Meet all internal goals, policies and procedures concerning safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, TPM, 5S and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet all external regulatory, compliance, system standard and customer satisfaction goals. 
  • Responsible for safe, on-schedule, high quality operation of the sheet extrusion and related process, including MFC.   This role is responsible for the daily productivity and product/service quality throughout the Sheet extrusion operations.
  • Direct the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) goals and improvement plans in the process area.
  • Manage and provide product and process quality inspection for all activities.
  • Manage Work Orders for repairs.  Manage logbook entries for documentation of activities.
  • Manage and maintain 5S, safety, ESP and TPM standards in area.
  • Maintain proficiency and licensing for industrial vehicles, including specialty vehicles.
  • Be current in all training profile requirements.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Manager.
 SCOPE:
Experience –
  1. Shall supervise all area employees.  Shall be able to direct the team with minimal direct supervision. 
  2. Person trained to achieve 70% competency in less than 12 months., 90% within 24 months.
  3. Computer expertise (primarily SAP & Microsoft Office)
  4. Knowledge of raw materials specifications,  product specifications and customer requirements.
  5. Knowledge of and certification in relevant ISO, RC14001  and related regulatory requirements.
  6. Should have 5 – 10 years’ experience in supervision of a manufacturing department.
 
 Education/Training/Certifications/Language Requirements;
All training to be at the job or by the site.  Requires relevant 4 year college diploma, or equivalent industry experience. 

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday- Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
