Role Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in a highly automated food manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting uninterrupted production and adherence to quality standards.


What You'll Do
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, supervisors, and other maintenance team members to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize production efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery such as conveyors, mixers, and packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential equipment issues.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions to maintain safety and production continuity.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex equipment problems efficiently.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition, to support regulatory compliance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and longevity.
  • Training and Development: Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED; preference given to candidates with 2 years of technical or vocational training
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an automated industrial manufacturing facility, ideally in maintenance for packaging or processing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of motor controls, sensors, gearboxes, and electrical test equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial safety, machine safeguarding, and basic industrial math
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment
