Job description

Are you a skilled electrician who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship? Egan Company is hiring reliable, safety-conscious electricians to join our team for commercial and industrial projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. This is a full-time role with standard day-time hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Commercial/Industrial Electrician include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Install, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems in industrial facilities and commercial buildings.
  • Bend and install EMT, IMC, and Rigid conduit.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Integrate and commission PLC and HMI hardware for industrial automation.
  • Troubleshoot motor controls, VFDs, and PLC systems.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds NEC standards and local building codes.
  • Prioritize safety on the job site.
  • Interface directly with client engineers and facility managers to ensure integration projects meet operational goals.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and work collaboratively within a team.
  • A proven track record of prioritizing safety on every jobsite.
  • Valid North Carolina Electrical license preferred, but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $32.44 per hour.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a variety of settings, including active commercial construction sites, climate-controlled manufacturing facilities, and industrial plants. You may be exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures depending on the project phase.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods while installing conduit and control systems.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull tools and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Precise fine-motor skills required for landing small-gauge control wiring and working within high-density panels.
  • Comfort working at heights (ladders, aerial lifts, and scaffolding) and in occasionally confined industrial spaces.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and arc-flash protection as dictated by the task and OSHA standards.
