Job Summary



  • We are seeking a Senior Electronics Repair Manufacturing Engineer / Test Systems Integration Consultant to lead the expansion of an industrial electronics repair operation. This role is responsible for designing and deploying electronic test systems, improving repair processes, optimizing manufacturing workflows, and increasing operational capacity.

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronics troubleshooting, power electronics, automated test systems, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement within a manufacturing or repair environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Test Equipment Engineering



  • Design, build, and commission electronic test equipment and repair fixtures.

  • Develop functional, diagnostic, and end-of-line (EOL) test systems for industrial electronic assemblies.

  • Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material (BOMs), and technical documentation.

  • Develop validation protocols and acceptance criteria for test equipment.

  • Integrate power supplies, PLCs, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and automation components.


Electronics Repair & Technical Leadership



  • Troubleshoot and repair:

  • PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies)

  • Power electronics

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Motor control systems

  • Industrial control electronics

  • Embedded electronic assemblies

  • Improve diagnostic methods and repair effectiveness.

  • Reduce repeat failures, no-fault-found incidents, and repair cycle times.

  • Serve as the technical expert for repair processes and testing methodologies.


Manufacturing & Process Improvement



  • Analyze production workflows, material movement, workstation utilization, and throughput.

  • Design optimized manufacturing cells and facility layouts using Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Improve production flow, technician productivity, and inventory management.

  • Develop standardized work instructions, repair procedures, and testing processes.

  • Implement best practices for quality, safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.


Capacity Expansion



  • Develop and execute strategies to increase repair capacity.

  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

  • Support equipment migration, operational transitions, and production ramp-up activities.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, repair engineering, test engineering, or industrial systems support.

  • Strong experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies and power electronics.

  • Experience designing, building, and commissioning electronic test equipment.

  • Experience with manufacturing transfers, facility transitions, or operational startup projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and cell-based manufacturing.

  • Ability to create electrical schematics, technical documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.

  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience supporting elevator, industrial automation, transportation, or industrial electronics repair operations.


Experience with:



  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Motor controls

  • Industrial power systems

  • National Instruments (NI)

  • LabVIEW

  • PLC-based test systems

  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

  • Experience in repair depot, remanufacturing, or service operations.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
