About the Role

We are looking for a bright, kind and goal oriented Industrial Engineering Lead to join the Stitch Fix Industrial Engineering Team.  In this role you'll be responsible for onsite process improvement and cost savings initiatives within our warehouses.  Reporting into the Director of Industrial Engineering, the Industrial Engineering Lead will work closely with other members of the team and cross-functional operational partners in our warehouses located across the country. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new technologies, processes, and equipment that will enable our warehouses to support business growth.
  • Manage large cross functional  projects from ideation to implementation.
  • Create and update engineering labor standards within our labor management system.
  • Conduct the economic evaluation of ideas and technologies, and write the business cases to justify projects and track results to demonstrate success 
  • Design layouts for facilities, equipment, inventory storage, workspaces, and material flows
  • Create the technical specifications that define our equipment and facility standards, and warehouse automation concepts.  Write the documents necessary to procure equipment and technical services such as scope of work, performance requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support maintenance with automated equipment downtime resolution.
  • Conduct inventory capacity forecasting and related capital investment planning.
  • Lead the implementation of lean warehousing programs, including methods such as waste elimination, 5S, value analysis, standard work, and material flow systems (pull systems, theory of constraints, etc).

  •  Conduct root cause analysis. 
  • Ability to create AI tools to improve personal and team efficiency (Gems, GPTs, etc)
  • Conduct technical research and create internal technical documents. 

About You

This is what you'll need to succeed in this role from day 1. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience, primarily with implementing automated systems.
  • You are proficient in AutoCad
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

This position may require the ability to sit for extended periods of time, use a computer or other office equipment, and communicate effectively (verbal and written). 

  • Travel: 20%

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to warehouse fulfillment environments
  • Six sigma certification
  • Proficient in Minitab
  • Proficient with Takt LMS and Softeon WMS
  • Experience with discrete-event simulation software (e.g., FlexSim, similar)
