INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING SPECIALIST (Industrial Technician)

D-Riven Engineered Solutions is seeking an experienced and accountable Industrial Engineering Specialist to join our Industrial Engineering division. This employee will be responsible for executing mechanical equipment, rigging, installations, disassembly, relocation, and service to meet our customers’ varied needs, while upholding D-Riven’s high quality standards.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities

:

In this position, the employee will be responsible to:

**

  • Uphold D-Riven’s health and safety standards throughout the execution of a given project, along with ensuring compliance with customer safety rules and regulations

  • Rig, install, assemble, disassemble, relocate, and service mechanical industrial equipment

  • Utilize industrial rigging tools (Versa-lifts, millwright casters, industrial fork trucks, overhead cranes, etc.) to relocate equipment within facilities, and for transfer to different production plants

  • Execute installations in accordance with engineered drawings or schematics

  • Document equipment disassembly procedures and process to aid in reassembly

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and assess machinery for defects and malfunctions

  • Conduct maintenance repair tasks, such as bearing, shaft, pulley, belt, and chain replacements, to ensure proper functionality of existing equipment

  • Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and alignment, to avoid unplanned customer downtime

  • Work closely with engineers and other technicians to address complex issues on site

  • Support mechanical utility (chilled water, tower water, natural gas, compressed air) infrastructure modifications and upgrades by fabricating and installing associated pipe systems (threaded, grooved, or pressed pipe)

  • Fabricate pallets and palletize equipment for transfer between production facilities

  • Load and unload dry vans and specialty trailers using various types of powered equipment

  • Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order

  • Perform other routine jobsite duties as directed by management

The travel positions are 100% travel which means you will be on the road with a travel team in other states 3-4 weeks at a time….sometimes a couple of months at a time.

  • All travel arrangements and expenses (hotel/flights/rental car) are made and paid for in advance by the company. If you drive your auto to the work site from

  • home, you will be able to expense mileage at a rate of .725 per mile, but not to and from the jobsite each day from your hotel.

  • We also pay $70.00 per diem each day.

  • You accrue 120 hours of PTO (vacation, sick, personal days, etc) which you can take upon approval from your Manager.

  • Your health benefits package is active the first day of the month following your start date.

  • There are occasional breaks from the job, especiallyduring holidays, but since you would be a member of the travel team, you will be traveling continuously.

**Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in the diagnosis/assessment, documentation, disassembly, palletization, and rigging of industrial plastic extrusion equipment including single and twin barrel extruders

  • Previous experience in the diagnosis/assessment, documentation, disassembly, palletization, and rigging of industrial plastic material feed system components including vacuum pumps, transfer piping, desiccant dehumidifiers, gas-fired driers, crystalizers, and vacuum loaders

  • Previous experience in the diagnosis/assessment, documentation, disassembly, palletization, and rigging of industrial plastic pellet material feed system components including vacuum pumps transfer piping, desiccant dehumidifiers

  • Expertise in the layout, placement, leveling, and commissioning of industrial plastic extrusion and thermoforming equipment

  • Previous experience in the diagnosis/assessment, documentation, disassembly, palletization, and rigging of industrial thermoformers including various Lyle, Brown, GN, and Kirkhoff models

  • Familiarity with extruders to roll downstream production equipment including the safe working procedures around web scanner radioactive sources

  • Familiarity with the operation of specialized industrial rigging equipment including Versa-lifts, Hillmann Traksporters (walk-behind and remote robots), and carry-deck cranes

**Required Experience and/or Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Technical certification or vocational training in a trade or mechanical technology

  • 2-5 years’ relevant experience in industrial manufacturing
