At Endress+Hauser, progress happens by working together. As the global leader in measurement instrumentation, our ~18,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether developing and realizing new technology as a team, collaborating to build instrumentation, or strengthening vital relationships with countless global industries, we work to create trusted relationships that help everyone thrive. As a family-owned company, we look beyond short-term moves and work to create a vision that is forward-thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large.
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer 1 to join our group and help drive the future of manufacturing through lean innovation, process improvement, and hands-on problem solving. You'll support productivity and quality initiatives, lead new product introductions, optimize SAP and production processes, and work across teams to deliver meaningful operational improvements that make a real impact on our business.
What is the role about?
Do you enjoy turning complex manufacturing challenges into practical solutions? Are you energized by leading improvement projects that increase efficiency, quality, and productivity? Do you thrive when collaborating with production, engineering, supply chain, quality, and global teams to bring new products and processes to life?
If so, you'll fit right in. As part of the Level+Pressure Production Center Industrial Engineering team in Greenwood, Indiana, you'll work alongside manufacturing, quality, production, supply chain, and engineering stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, optimize production systems, and help shape the future of our operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, hands-on problem solver who enjoys making a visible impact on the factory floor and across the organization.
Which tasks will you perform?
You will:
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze manufacturing processes using Lean tools such as 5S, time studies, line balancing, and value stream mapping.
• Create and maintain SAP Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, KMATs, and production data.
• Coordinate and implement engineering changes through SAP while ensuring smooth communication across departments.
• Lead cross-functional projects to introduce new products and processes into local production.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain ISO 9001 quality process documentation and production standards.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain manufacturing data to support planning, material control, and operational decision-making.
• Recommend and implement plant layout, workflow, and equipment improvements to support growth and efficiency.
• Support production by designing, sourcing, and implementing tooling, fixtures, and assembly equipment solutions.
What do we expect from you?
You:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, or industrial engineering environment
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools such as 5S, time studies, line balancing, and value stream mapping
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate production issues and implement sustainable solutions
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred), including BOMs, routings, engineering changes, and production data management
• Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and global stakeholders
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about driving change, improving processes, and making a measurable impact on operations
What can you expect from us?
• Family-owned, highly committed global company with a sustainable vision of the future.
• Lifelong learning encouraged by versatile training, tuition reimbursement, success coaching, and further education opportunities.
• Comprehensive benefit package (to include medical, dental, vision) and 401(k) savings with company match.
• Compensation is competitive and includes bonus opportunities.
• Work-life balance encouraged through our 10 company-paid holidays, paid time off, paid parental leave, employee assistance programs (financial, mental, and physical health and wellbeing), and employee discounts.
