We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Buyer to help manage procurement activities for our growing operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and equipment are purchased efficiently, competitively, and delivered on time to support production and project schedules.

Position Summary

The Senior Industrial Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement of electrical and mechanical materials, equipment, and components used throughout our manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of industrial purchasing, established supplier relationships, excellent negotiation skills, and understands how to source specialized electrical and mechanical products quickly and efficiently.

This position works closely with Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Sales, and Project Management to support company objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase industrial electrical and mechanical materials, equipment, and components.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, contracts, and purchasing agreements.
  • Analyze supplier pricing and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders from quotation through delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing with production requirements.
  • Track supplier performance regarding pricing, quality, and delivery.
  • Resolve purchasing and supplier‑related issues efficiently.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Project Management to identify material requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP data.
  • Continuously evaluate vendors to improve quality, pricing, and delivery performance.
Required Qualifications
  • 4–5 years of purchasing experience within the industrial electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or automation industries.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical products.
  • Experience sourcing industrial equipment and materials.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience purchasing industrial electrical equipment such as:
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • PLCs
    • Circuit breakers
    • Transformers
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • Control panels
    • Automation components
    • Industrial hardware
  • Knowledge of leading manufacturers and distributors such as Eaton, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Mitsubishi Electric, Rockwell Automation, Phoenix Contact, Panduit, WAGO, and similar brands.
Important Note

Candidates must have prior purchasing experience within the industrial electrical and/or mechanical industry.

Experience limited to retail purchasing, office supplies, hospitality, healthcare, or unrelated procurement environments will not be considered.
