Position: Lead MES Engineer Location: Etters, PA

Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Amphenol Cable Backplane Systems (CBS) is seeking a highly motivated Lead MES Engineer. This role is being created as we modernize our manufacturing execution capabilities onto the Ignition platform (Inductive Automation) with Sepasoft MES Modules. An implementation partner will handle the initial build. You will work as their internal counterpart during rollout, defining requirements and validating deliverables, then take full ownership of configuration, support, and continuous improvement once the system is live.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for our Ignition/Sepasoft implementation partner, defining requirements, reviewing deliverables, and leading acceptance testing
  • Configure and administer the Ignition Gateway (Designer, Vision/Perspective clients, Tag Historian, Alarming) and Sepasoft MES Modules (Track & Trace, OEE Downtime, SPC Quality, Recipe/Batch)
  • Integrate Ignition with PLCs, ERP (SAP), test equipment, vision systems, and quality systems via OPC UA, MQTT, and REST APIs
  • Build dashboards and reports for OEE, yield, scrap, downtime, and cycle time
  • Ensure end-to-end product genealogy and traceability, from raw material to finished product, using Sepasoft Track & Trace
  • Support quality initiatives such as SPC, FMEA, APQP, and CAPA with real-time Ignition/Sepasoft data
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing user support
  • Train operators and engineers on Ignition/Sepasoft functionality
Qualifications:
  • 7 to 10 years of manufacturing systems experience, ideally with hands-on Ignition and/or Sepasoft MES Module experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation), including Gateway administration, Designer, and Vision/Perspective clients; Sepasoft MES Modules a strong plus
  • Experience working with systems integrators or implementation partners on complex builds
  • Familiarity with OPC UA, SQL, and Python/Jython scripting
  • Strong systems thinking and a process-improvement mindset, with the adaptability to work across a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to travel globally for system go-lives and upgrades ~ approximately10%
