Job description

Major Donor Relationship Manager

Use Your Gifts to Multiply Impact

At Mercy Chefs, we don’t just serve meals — we serve hope. In the aftermath of disasters and in underserved communities across the globe, we provide professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals to those who need them most.

We are seeking a passionate, relational, and results-driven Major Donor Relationship Manager to help fuel this mission by cultivating transformational partnerships with generous supporters. This is more than fundraising — it’s ministry through meaningful relationships that make life-changing impact possible.

If you thrive on building authentic connections, inspiring generosity, and aligning donor passion with purpose, we invite you to join us.

Your Impact

As Major Donor Relationship Manager, you will:

  • Inspire and generate $2M+ in annual major gift support
  • Personally steward a portfolio of 100–200 major donors contributing $10,000+
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships that help donors feel known, valued, and connected
  • Present compelling opportunities including annual, multi-year, legacy, and asset-based giving
  • Share powerful stories of impact that demonstrate how generosity transforms lives
  • Identify and cultivate new major donor prospects aligned with our mission
  • Design personalized engagement strategies for each donor
  • Represent Mercy Chefs with passion, professionalism, and integrity
  • Travel up to 50% to meet donors in their communities and witness our mission firsthand

You will work closely with a collaborative Development team, leveraging best-in-class fundraising practices and CRM tools to steward relationships with excellence.

Who You Are

You are a relationship-builder at heart — someone who sees fundraising as a calling, not just a career.

You bring:

  • 3+ years of fundraising or development experience (major gifts preferred)
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding ambitious goals
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Experience managing donor portfolios and CRM systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A high degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Comfort engaging in faith-based conversations when appropriate
  • A heart aligned with Mercy Chefs’ Christian mission and values

You are self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by meaningful conversations that inspire generosity.

Why Mercy Chefs?

Because what we do matters.

When disaster strikes, we respond. When communities struggle, we serve. When hope feels distant, we show up with compassion and excellence.

Joining Mercy Chefs means:

  • Being part of a mission-driven team that leads with faith and excellence
  • Witnessing firsthand the impact of generosity
  • Growing professionally through ongoing training and development
  • Traveling domestically and internationally to see the mission in action
  • Contributing to a culture rooted in purpose, integrity, and service

Ready to Help Feed Body and Soul?

If you’re ready to use your relational strengths to inspire generosity and advance a mission that changes lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us serve hope — one meal, one relationship, one community at a time.
