About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Senior Tax Manager, the US Indirect Tax Manager will manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Telecommuting available up to 3 days per week within the Seattle Metropolitan area, based on manager approval.

You Will:

  • Support on worldwide indirect tax topics, in collaboration with international teams.

  • Lead tax research and documentation for new product launches across the US.

  • Maintain oversight of jurisdictional tax notices and audits, partnering with external advisors.

  • Monitor state and federal legislation, conduct "horizon scanning," and advise on strategic impacts, including Washington Business and Occupation (B&O) and Seattle payroll taxes.

  • Serve as an embedded tax partner to Finance, Legal, and Product teams to assess taxability of new products or business expansions, to ensure accurate Indirect tax reporting and compliance, mitigating tax risks in cross-border transactions.

  • Facilitate tax planning to drive holistic, global tax efficiency.

  • Identify and lead projects to automate tax processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.

  • Build global indirect tax knowledge base and risk-tracking process.

You Have:

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with U.S. indirect tax experience in a tech-enabled and high-volume digital environment.

  • 1 year of experience with multi-state sales and use tax, including nexus determination, sourcing rules, and exemption processes;

  • 1 year of experience with utilizing global VAT and GST regimes;

  • 1 year of experience working with Washington Business and Occupation (B&O) tax and Seattle's local tax regime;

  • 1 year of experience with communicating complex tax concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and

  • 1 year of experience with Alteryx, audit and notice correspondence, Avalara, Bloomberg, CCH, Excel, practical AI application, product taxability analysis, RIA Checkpoint, and Tableau.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $122,907.00 - $150,000.00 per year. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
