Description -
Role Overview
The Manager, Training Academy Manager will lead the HP Indigo and LF Training Academy across the Americas, owning the end-to-end training function for both customer-facing and internal technical training programs.
This role is responsible for defining and executing the training strategy to support customer success, service readiness, and business growth, while driving operational excellence and financial performance. Training is delivered in hands-on, production-based environments on HP digital presses, requiring a leader who can operate effectively at the intersection of service, sales, and customer engagement.
Leading a large and diverse organization of approximately 15 trainers and supporting staff, this role will play a critical part in shaping the future of training-ensuring alignment with business priorities, technological advancements, and evolving customer needs.
This is a business-critical leadership role with direct impact on customer success outcomes and revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the HP Indigo training strategy for the Americas, including the development of future-ready training methodologies, tools, and learning experiences aligned to customer and business needs.
  • P&L Ownership: Own the full training P&L, with accountability for revenue growth, gross margin improvement, cost management, and overall financial performance. Manage a mixed training revenue model, including entitlement-based training, paid seats, and onsite delivery.
  • Training Portfolio & Content: Oversee the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of training
  • materials, programs, and certifications across all HP Indigo platforms, ensuring relevance to real-world production environments and customer workflows.
  • Organization Leadership: Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing team of ~15 employees, including individual contributors. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement, while supporting onboarding, cross-training, and capability development.
  • Customer-Facing Training Operations: Lead a highly visible, customer-facing training organization that delivers hands-on technical training experiences. Ensure consistent, high-quality customer experience that reinforces HP value and supports long-term customer success.
  • Internal Technical Training (Service Enablement): Own and expand internal technical training for field service engineers and support teams, including onboarding, certification, and ongoing capability development to ensure service readiness and performance.
  • Lab & Infrastructure Management: Own and manage multiple training labs and facilities, ensuring they are equipped, maintained, and aligned with current and future platform requirements, while supporting a professional and safe customer facing training environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Global Business Unit (GBU) on new product introductions, platform readiness, and training alignment. Collaborate with Service leadership to strengthen internal capability building. Work with Sales teams and directly with customers to drive training adoption, value realization, and revenue opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers and key stakeholders to ensure training programs deliver measurable business outcomes and support customer success.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish KPIs, governance, and performance tracking to continuously improve training effectiveness, resource utilization, and overall business impact. Operate effectively within a dynamic environment balancing trainer capacity, equipment availability, and customer demand.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing large, complex organizations (20+ employees), including second-line managers
  • Strong business acumen with experience owning or influencing P&L performance
  • Experience in technical training, field enablement, or customer-facing training operations within industrial, capital equipment, or service environments
  • Deep understanding of customer-facing organizations, ideally within Service or industrial/technical domains
  • Ability to define strategy and translate it into execution with measurable results
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across functions and geographies
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership presence

Preferred
  • Experience in digital printing or similar industrial/capital equipment environments
  • Familiarity with HP Indigo products and ecosystem
  • Experience working with global business units and product organizations

Salary
The pay range for this role is $116,150 to $182,400 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
