Summary:
Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs.Our mission is to provide excellent healthcare to American Indians. We do this by putting people first, providing quality services, and maintaining our Integrity and Professionalism.We are looking to add compassionate team players to our growing team as we continue to work toward our goal of becoming the national model for American Indian Health Care.We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician whoprovides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all ages. This role diagnoses and manages acute and chronic conditions, promotes preventive health, and collaborates with clinical staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care that meets community needs.Applicants claiming Indian Preference must complete the full application andmustprovide documentation verifying eligibility (such as a tribal enrollment card or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)).
Duties:
Provides comprehensive ambulatory medical services within the scope of Family Medicine for the purpose of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.Determines the nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and laboratory tests.Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity programs, as indicated by diagnosis.Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated.Assists clinic administration in developing and implementing programs relevant to providing health care for Native Americans served by the clinic.Participates in appropriate in-service education programs for health professionals at the clinic.Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient data and information.Maintains licensure and appropriate certifications.
Qualifications:
Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core valuesMust hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited college or university.Must have documentation of completion of residency in Family Medicine from an accredited residency program.Must hold an unrestricted professional license in the State of Oklahoma;Must be Board-certified or Board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Family MedicineCurrent CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
