What is an Independent Life Insurance Broker?

An Independent Life Insurance Broker is a licensed professional who helps clients find and purchase life insurance policies from a variety of insurance companies, rather than being tied to just one provider. They assess clients' financial needs and goals, compare policy options across multiple insurers, and provide unbiased advice to ensure clients get the best coverage for their situation. Because they have access to many different insurance carriers, independent brokers can often find more competitive rates and policy features tailored to individual needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Independent Life Insurance Broker, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Independent Life Insurance Broker, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, sales acumen, and an active state insurance license. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, quoting software, and industry compliance tools is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and ethical integrity help brokers build trust and long-term client relationships. These competencies are vital for effectively matching clients with appropriate coverage and sustaining a successful, client-focused business.

Job Description

We are looking to hire and train new Independent Life Insurance Agents.

This is a 1099 independent contractor, 100% commission sales position. There is no base salary. Your income is based on your activity, consistency, and ability to follow the training and sales process.

You must be coachable, adaptable, self-motivated, and eager to learn. This is not a get-rich-quick opportunity. It is a real sales career that takes effort, discipline, and a willingness to be trained.

Youโ€™ll work alongside experienced agents and top producers, giving you access to mentorship, proven systems, and support as you build your business.

You will work remotely from anywhere, part-time or full-time, with the ability to set your own schedule. As you grow your personal production and build your own agency, your income potential can grow as well.

You will be helping families with life insurance solutions after they have requested information or expressed interest in protecting their families. Our lead-based business gives agents access to people to contact, follow up with, and serve across the nation.

Because this is a highly regulated industry, you will need to become licensed. We will help guide you through that process. If you are already licensed, you may be able to onboard in a matter of days.

Income potential is uncapped, but results vary based on effort, skill, consistency, and time invested. We typically see part-time agents working 15โ€“20 hours per week earning $3,000โ€“$5,000 per month, and full-time agents working 35โ€“45 hours per week earning $8,000โ€“$15,000+ per month. Ownership opportunities are also possible.
