COMPANY DESCRIPTION

KLE is a rapidly growing utility professional project services company, headquartered in Wixom, Michigan, that provides high-quality consulting services in the electric & gas utility industry using creative thinking and proven experience. Supporting clients across the United States, KLE drives operational improvement through Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Field Data Collection and Utility Pole Inspection.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform various field technical services for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission utility poles.
  • Performs inspections of wooden telephone and utility poles by excavating around the base of the pole, inspecting the external/internal base of the pole, treating the pole with external or internal treatment, and collecting/inputting data into a handheld computer.
  • Operate necessary hand tools to include but not limited to; shovel, drill, hammer, and handheld tablet to assess pole structural integrity and longevity of wooden telephone and utility poles.
  • Achieve weekly production goals as defined by the project guidelines.
  • Wears appropriate PPE and presents a professional appearance and attitude
  • Demonstrates high work standards and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate with the public, customers, other team members, and leadership.
  • Assists in Storm Response when activated by the utility company

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Full time travel throughout the State of NY is required for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Working Knowledge of computers and software applications (MS Office Products)
  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license + clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to complete a satisfactory background check.
  • Be able to pass an internal training program (written and field evaluation)
  • Ability to work long hours in all types of weather and terrain
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
