The Role

Are you an individual who is self-motivated, self-reliant, self-directed, and highly organized? We are interested in finding a Field Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, the individual is responsible for the overall success of valve repair service operations in the field or in the shop. This includes teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of all brands of safety pressure relief valves, isolation valves, actuators, and other automation equipment as necessary assuring all company and industry safety standards are met.

What You’ll Do

Field Service Operations:

  • Responsible for the following:
    • Success of field service operations.
    • Contributes to additional scope development.
    • Field PRV/SRV’s repaired and/or tested under NYNE’s VR Program.
    • Making decisions in the field to ensure repaired PRV/SRV’s meet all ASME Code and NBIC requirements
    • Field service readiness including rigging, scaffolding, welding, electrical, and machining if required.

Field Service Equipment and Tooling

  • Responsible for the following:
    • Identifying equipment, tooling, consumables, and parts needed for field operations.
    • Maintenance and performance of equipment, tooling, maintenance and performance of trucks and trailers and their contents.
    • Recommendations of equipment and tooling investment to improve safety, efficiency, and competitive advantage.

Relief, Control, and Isolation Valve Repair - Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electric Actuator Repair:

  • Performs an as found evaluation including pre-testing, disassembly, sandblasting, cleaning, and fills out in process inspection documents recording all findings utilizing detailed photo’s, videos, and evaluation documentation.
  • Provides cause of failure analysis and recommends repair scope including parts replacement, machining repair, welding repair, or repair by replace. Makes decisions with respect to the action of the valve.
  • Repairs product based on the work order repair scope utilizing specifications, drawings, sketches, and repair manuals. Documents all steps of the repair process using photo’s, videos, and repair report documentation.
  • Uses any equipment required to perform the duties of the function including operation of flow testing equipment, calibration equipment, and follows all department operating instructions and procedures to safely accomplish the task.
  • Performs surface preparation and painting operations.
  • Various inventory control actions including stocking shelves, pulling parts, cycle counting, proper documentation of inventory transactions.
  • Interprets orders for stamping, nameplate tagging, and digital asset tagging documentation.
  • Final inspection of products according to NYNE’s procedures and standards.
  • Boxing and shipping of new products, repaired products, old parts, new parts, ensuring assets arrive undamaged and represent professional organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping standards in-line with 5S requirements and safety regulations.
  • Proactively identify additional equipment, tooling, consumables, and parts needed for day-to-day shop operations.
  • Responsible for maintenance and performance of equipment and tooling.

Documentation:

It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that documentation is completed in real time at the valve in the field or in the shop. This includes:

  • Any and all required Shop Repair / Field Service Documentation
  • Work Order Documentation
  • Evaluation Reports
  • Quality/Testing documentation
  • Diagnostic Reports
  • Outage Status reports
  • Repair Report / Field Service Summaries
  • Timecards per customer asset, per activity
  • Management of Customer Portal Documentation
  • Asset tagging & management
  • Pre-Onsite Checklists and/or any NYNE or customer safety documentation
  • All other documentation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical related Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Major contributor to positive teamwork environment.
  • Must be able work off hours, weekends, and OT on a short notice and on an on-going basis based on business needs.
  • Must be able to, or possess the ability to learn how to operate large warehouse equipment, fork trucks, cranes, etc.
  • Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and moving heavy awkward products.
  • Desire to strive for operational excellence.
  • Initiative in assuming new responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High computer system application literacy including Microsoft 365 and ability to learn new business applications quickly.
  • Reaching, climbing, sitting, reaching overhead, kneeling for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn is a must.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Because this role includes a mix of shop, on-site, and field service work, total compensation may vary based on assignment type, applicable pay practices, and plan eligibility.

The posted salary range represents a good faith estimate of the expected base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, assignment mix, and business needs.
