HDR is hiring a Senior Construction Inspector to work as a member of our Florida CEI (Construction Engineering and Inspection) program at a project site in Crystal River, FL on another exciting project. Our CEI team primarily works independently on FDOT projects consisting of milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. They interact on a daily basis with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel. This is a terrific opportunity for candidates looking to advance their career in inspection with upward mobility and long-term employment with a fast-growing program and employee-owned company.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to work as needed on nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Technical school or Associate's degree
  • 10 years of roadway/highway inspection experience
  • ITS experience 
  • Previous FDOT or other comparable agency experience
  • Relevant industry certifications including CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level 1, CTQP Earthwork Constuction Inspection, IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level 1, CTQP Final Estimates Level 1, FDOT Intermediate MOT, Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors, Critical Structures Construction Issues, Seld-Study Course - CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Local candidates are preferred
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
