About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for Physics PhD experts interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects involving state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs).
The role involves applying advanced physics expertise to develop challenging, domain-specific problems and high-quality reference solutions that help improve the scientific reasoning, accuracy, and problem-solving capabilities of next-generation AI systems.
Areas of Expertise
Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following physics domains:
- Statistical Mechanics, Condensed Matter Physics & Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) Physics
- Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Electrodynamics & Classical Mechanics
- String Theory, Quantum Field Theory (QFT), Particle Physics & Nuclear Physics
- General Relativity, Astrophysics & Cosmology
Required Qualifications
- Completed PhD in Physics.
- Graduate degree from a university in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, or Western Europe.
- Deep subject matter expertise in at least one of the listed physics domains.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and scientific problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent proficiency in English.
- Ability to understand and follow complex technical instructions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote research environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop challenging, research-level physics problems within your area of expertise.
- Create rigorous, high-quality reference solutions and scientific explanations.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, reasoning, and technical quality.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve AI-generated solutions.
- Apply advanced physics expertise to help improve the scientific reasoning capabilities of large language models.
- Contribute approximately 4–6 high-quality tasks per week, with each task potentially requiring several hours to complete.
Compensation
- Competitive compensation of $80–$100/hour.
