What You'll Do:
The Independent Contract Registered Nurse will perform the full range of assignments including but not limited to:
  • Assess patient/resident condition on admission and on an ongoing basis. Prepare a measurable, attainable, specific, and individualized plan of care.
  • Provide professional nursing care and perform routine treatments as prescribed by a physician or indicated by patient's/resident's condition.
  • Use professional judgment regarding direction of care or treatment modifications given patient/resident condition.
  • Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary team in planning, evaluating, and revising patient/resident plan of care on a daily or regular basis. Direct nursing personnel in implementation of the care plan.
  • Observe and evaluate symptoms, progress, and reactions to treatments and medications.
  • Recognize changes in physiological and/or psychological states and provide safe therapeutic approaches.
  • Intervene in disruptive/destructive situations through the utilization of appropriate behavioral management techniques.
  • Educate patients' or residents' families and caregivers about diagnosis-related care, medications, home care techniques, and post-discharge rehabilitation requirements.
  • Assist in orienting and training new personnel to the unit, and serve as a resource person for other facility personnel and students.

Requirements
What We're Looking For:
REQUIRED:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (onsite training available if needed).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan, or eligibility to obtain license.

Independent Contractors with HealthSource Saginaw must:
  • Supply own benefits and make all appropriate tax, social security, Medicare, and other withholding payments as required.
  • Submit invoice of hours worked every two weeks for payment.
  • Maintain (at sole expense) valid policies of insurance evidencing general and professional liability coverage of not less than $1,000,000/occurrence and $3,000,000 in the aggregate.

HealthSource Saginaw does not provide worker's compensation insurance coverage nor make any unemployment tax payments for independent contractors.
