Job description

Founded in 1997, the Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) is a leading after-school math program, serving over 80,000 students across more than 80 branches in the U.S., Canada, and Israel. Featured by NPR and The Atlantic as a leader in the "math revolution," and ranked among the best schools in the world by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, RSM is known for its deep, structured approach to teaching mathematics.For nearly three decades, RSM students have consistently achieved outstanding results on standardized tests and in math competitions. But beyond test scores, our mission is to help every student become a confident, independent thinker with a deep and lasting understanding of math.

We're looking for candidates who love math and teaching as much as we do. This position is based in our Newton, MA office. Remote work as a contractor may be possible depending on location.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with Senior Methodologists to create and refine lesson materials

  • Develop engaging problem sets, presentations, and sample Whiteboards

  • Review lessons for clarity, skill coverage, and overall flow

  • Keep our content databases neat and well-structured

  • You'll also stay connected to the classroom, teaching 8-10 hours a week. Since RSM is an afterschool program, classes are held during afternoon or evening hours or weekends.

What we hope you bring:

  • Solid understanding of middle school Algebra and Geometry (Calculus is a plus)

  • 1-3 years of experience with curriculum or methodology work

  • A genuine interest in both teaching and educational design

  • Ability to take and apply feedback thoughtfully, while working independently and taking ownership of your projects

  • Willingness to relocate to Newton, MA, or potentially work remotely as a contractor
