The Medical Assistant III role combines clinical proficiency, leadership, and mentorship duties while ensuring excellent patient experiences. Join us and be part of a rapidly growing team that's truly making a difference!ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Accurately obtain, record, and document patient vitals and clinical information in the EMR using established protocolsPerform all duties of highly experienced Medical Assistant II at a high level of independence, including procedures, medication administration, injections, immunizations, and other proceduresClinical inbox management for self, provider and POD as needed. To include timely response to patient inquiries, managing refills, and answering any clinical questions within the scope of practiceCreates positive team member and patient experiencesPractices service recovery and service excellence, proactively addressing patient concerns, and ensuring positive feedback from patients and providersParticipates in assigned related clinical projectsProvide educational materials and health information under physician guidanceObserve and report patient concerns and condition changes to to licensed personnelPossesses advanced clinical skills, knowledge and/or specialty certifications (i.e. Pediatrics, Phlebotomy, Value-Based Care, HEDIS, advanced equipment uses)Cross trained to work in multiple departments, roles, and locations including Front Office and Lab, and able to float as needed to support team coverageCovers Nurse/MA visit schedules and performs ancillary procedures as requiredAccurately and completely documents patient encounters in the EMR, utilizing auditing tools and following refill protocolsConducts regular audits using the rooming guideline tool to ensure compliance with documentation standardsServes as POD/Station Lead for Quality control activities, including chart audits, vaccine inventory, and OSHA complianceConducts site safety audits and reports on variance or incidents, ensuring little to no deficienciesMaintains advanced knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and clinical compliance practicesActs as a clinical mentor and preceptor for new hires and provides ongoing training for other Medical Assistants, ensuring proper technique and adherence to established policies and proceduresLeads or coordinates small team tasks or huddles as assignedDemonstrates advanced EMR workflow knowledge and proactively manages clinical inboxes for self and providersReviews patient schedules, performs encounter preparation, and escalates appropriately within scopeAdvanced patient guidance, communication, and coordination are all supported by proactive workflowSuccessfully completes the 60-day competency and skills checklist as part of onboarding and ongoing professional developmentParticipates in periodic skills assessments and demonstrates proficiency in all required clinical tasksWorks well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment, proactively supporting POD and team membersCovers Nurse/MA schedule and floats as neededDemonstrates patience and commitment to CPG values, consistently exceeding patient expectations and uplifting team membersSupport providers in Value-Based Care initiativesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentCertified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) requiredCurrent AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers with hands on component preferred or within 60 days of hireMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is requiredStrong knowledge of clinical best practices, infection control, and regulatory complianceDocumented proficiency in advanced clinical skills and knowledge (i.e. Phlebotomy, prescription medications, vaccines, and quality metrics [HEDIS]PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Athena EMR experienceCOMPETITIVE BENEFIT PACKAGE:Compensation commensurate with experienceMedical, Dental, Vision InsuranceShort/Long term disability Insurance401K with employer matchHealth Savings Account optionsPaid Holidays and PTOReferral ProgramsAt Catalyst, we believe in the power of relationships.
