Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Inside Sales Representative / Purchasing Agent to join our team. Reporting directly to the New Equipment Sales Manager, this role supports both our outside sales team and customers by coordinating equipment sales, purchasing activities, inventory management, and vendor communications. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the outside sales team and respond to customer inquiries regarding new equipment, including drives, motors, transformers, gearboxes, and related products.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders based on customer quotes and sales orders.
  • Review vendor order acknowledgements to ensure pricing, quantities, and delivery information are accurate.
  • Track open orders and provide status updates to outside sales representatives and customers as needed.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotes in accordance with company procedures.
  • Initiate, process, and monitor manufacturer warranty claims.
  • Monitor the general sales inbox and provide backup support to the New Equipment Sales Manager.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate special order requests.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous inside sales, purchasing, customer service, or industrial/electrical distribution experience is preferred.
