BASIC OVERVIEW
The Inbound Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in and stocking new inventory into the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound operations. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOBS AND JOB FUNCTIONS
Replenishment-
  • Use correct machinery based on location of the product to pull pallets from overstock to replenish primary bins in other areas
  • Pull and transport warehouse stock to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure a high level of speed and accuracy
  • Confirm items, count, and bins while reporting any issues into mobile form
  • Complete assigned projects such as minimums and cycles during slow periods in the replenishment queue

Put away-
  • Create an effective driving route to correctly put away all products and quantities assigned in the correct location using forklift equipment and Company systems
  • Receive and stock inventory throughout the warehouse to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure a high level of speed and accuracy

Check In-
  • Separate returns from vendor orders
  • Accurately check in order items using IDS and SPS systems
  • Document all discrepancies
  • Ensure all products are received and stocked with a high level of inventory accuracy and quality
  • Maintain the error log and utilize IDS to track accountability and ensure accuracy standards are met

Container Unloading-
  • Unload containers in a timely fashion, within required limitations set by drivers and the company
  • Confirm item numbers and quantity of orders with high level to detail

IC & QA-
  • Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure that inventory counts and system data points are correct
  • Manage items in overstock bin locations to ensure that overstock items are accurately accounted for
  • Investigate discrepancies found during cycle counts and adjust inventory in Company systems when issues are resolved
  • Complete periodic tasks including internal transfers, coordinate serial numbers, and generate various reports

ALL INBOUND POSITIONS-
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
  • Monitor equipment and report any issues in a timely fashion to ensure that equipment is well-maintained and fixed by a trained technician when needed
  • Meet or exceed the department standards for productivity and accuracy
  • Adhere to attendance policy by maintaining regular, predictable, on-site attendance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
  • Abide by all company and warehouse policies
  • Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

WAGE
Starting Wage is $23.50/hr, with the potential raise every 6 months of up to $0.88.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

Experience
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred

  • Business proficiency in the ability to read, write, and communicate in English
