We are looking for an experienced QA Tech to join our growing team! Position overviewTo ensure safety, quality, and conformance to specifications of all products produced by Raw Seafoods. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain Quality Control documents and records on an ongoing basisInspect all incoming products for quality, safety, and adherence to specificationsConduct organoleptic testing on finished and incoming products/ingredientsOrganize and administer product cuttings in the absence of the Sr. TechMonitor the production floor for food safety and employee safetyPerform Quality Control checks and related paperwork in all departmentsAllergen testing, including testing according to annual, monthly, and weekly swab schedulesAccompany USDA inspector throughout plant and assist with all questions or problems that arise, when necessaryMaintain testing equipment, and conduct calibrations as neededCheck finished product labels to ensure conformance with product specifications and government requirementsCompare finished product to specification sheet to ensure it meets customer's requirementsEnsure all products meet and exceed standards required by USDA, USDC, FDA, and BRCImmediately identify and notify Sr. Technologist or Supervisor of situations where product does not meet specificationsComplete inbound and outbound paperwork associated with incoming and outgoing productConduct inspections of all manufacturing equipment prior to useComplete metal detector calibrations and corrective actions on a regular basisOversee that all procedures are followed in accordance to USDA, USDC, FDA, and BRC requirementsUpdate online databases and logs with inbound and outbound reportsProvide upper management with thoroughly checked outbound reports for customersAbility to fully monitor the processes of all internal processing linesEnsure compliance with Good Manufacturing PracticesEnsure all incoming products for quality, safety, and specifications are inspectedConfirm raw material lots being allocated are complete and accurate to maintain traceabilityCreate and communicate Maintenance Work OrdersComplete internal verifications, non-HACCP onlyAssist QA supervisor with ordering for the QA labAssist QA supervisor with inventory tracking for the QA labAssist QA supervisor with projects as neededOther responsibilities w/similar skill and work conditions as assigned Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities):Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Biological Sciences or related discipline. Or a combination of work experience and education which proves proficiency in the fieldOr 3+ Years Previous experience in Quality or Continuous ImprovementExperience and understanding of food ingredients, nutritional labels, allergens, and governmental regulations set forth by the USDC, USDA, and FDA preferredExperience with allergen swabs, testing, and all related tasks preferredIntermediate computer skills, primarily Microsoft and outlookMust be able to multitask effectively and problem solveMust maintain a flexible schedule; weekends, early mornings, and late nights may be required as neededBilingual in English/Spanish is preferred Physical Demands:Ability to communicate effectively with all departmentsAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work in cold environmentsNo food allergies preferredWhy Work With UsAt Raw Seafoods, we believe in investing in our people.
