Sitdown Warehouse Forklift Operator- 1st & 2nd Shift

Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment or Food/Beverage manufacturing (preferred)
  • Sit-down forklift certification (required)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as D365 (preferred)
  • Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends & holidays
  • Bilingual โ€“ English/Spanish (preferred)
Job Description:

At GT's Living Foods, our Warehouse Forklift Operators (I) ensure that every case/keg of kombucha is properly stored in our fermentation room and refrigerated trailers in accordance with quality standards and product specifications. Warehouse Forklift Operators (I) are responsible for transporting pallets of raw materials and finished product throughout the warehouse facility using a sit-down forklift to consolidate receiving, transfers and outbound shipments. Warehouse Forklift Operators (I) are also responsible for re-palletizing and building orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect forklift for damage and complete 'Forklift Operator's Daily Checklist' prior to operation to confirm forklift functions properly
  • Review daily order schedule and assignment to identify inbound, outbound, and transfer shipments
  • Operate sit-down forklift to retrieve raw materials and finished product from production areas to be delivered to fermentation room, staging areas, or refrigerated trailers
  • Use RF scanner to complete systematic transactions, including tracking inventory, partial quantities and location of pallets
  • Escalate inconsistencies between systematic and physical quantities to management to help locate necessary product
  • Manually re-palletize finished product onto the appropriate pallet type based on customer requirements and wrap pallets with shrink wrap
  • Load refrigerated trailers with pallets of finished product using trailer load map to ensure proper weight distribution as well as monitor/adjust the temperature of trailers to the appropriate level
  • Manually transport pallets to designated pile based on pallet type
  • Adhere to all quality, food safety and workplace safety standards, such as GMPs, Lockout/Tagout, OSHA guidelines and other company policies and procedures
  • Clean work area as needed to maintain a safe work environment
  • Occasionally perform the duties of a Warehouse Associate (I) as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Duties and Requirements:

  • Frequent moving and standing to build orders, repalletize, and wrap pallets with shrink wrap
  • Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, and carrying of cases of finished product (up to 40 lbs.) for repalletization
  • Occasional bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, and carrying of pallets (30 lbs.) to separate and place in designated piles according to pallet type โ€ข Occasional pulling of pallet jack to organize empty pallets
  • Occasional overhead reaching, pulling, and lifting (30-40 lbs.) to open/close trailer doors
  • Constant work near moving mechanical parts (other forklifts)
  • Constant exposure to electrical equipment (forklift batteries and charging stations)
  • Employees are required to sit for the majority of their shift to operate their forklift around the warehouse and occasionally in a confined space (refrigerated trailers) โ€ข Employees are occasionally required to work in a warm and humid warehouse environment (80-90ยฐF)
