The Job at a Glance

The Inbound Fulfillment Center Manager at our 130k square foot, state-of-the-art fulfillment center, is responsible for overseeing all inbound operations within the distribution center to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely receipt and processing of goods. This role drives productivity, safety, and quality standards while leading, coaching, and developing inbound operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage, train, and develop inbound supervisors, leads, and team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Create a positive, team-oriented culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the inbound department.
  • Monitor labor allocation and adjust staffing to meet volume and productivity targets.
  • Champion organizational change initiatives by clearly communicating vision, purpose, and expected outcomes to team members.

Inbound Operations

  • Oversee the receiving, unloading, inspection, and put-away processes for all inbound shipments including customer returns.
  • Ensure all products are accurately received into inventory systems and staged for processing or storage efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control to resolve discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment as needed.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and standards are followed within the inbound department.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA, etc.).

Process Improvement

  • Analyze inbound operations performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and optimize inbound workflows.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with outbound, inventory, quality assurance, transportation, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively with corporate teams, vendors, and carriers to resolve inbound-related issues.

Reporting & KPI Management

  • Monitor and report on key inbound metrics, including receiving productivity, dock-to-stock cycle time, and inbound accuracy.
  • Implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a distribution or fulfillment center environment, with a focus on inbound operations.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • You have excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, are proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • You are reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to team success.
  • Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
  • Availability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends based on operational demands.
