  • Coordinate and schedule delivery appointments with warehouse receiving teams based on inbound capacity

  • Resolve logistics bottlenecks, including customs holds, gate congestion, and chassis shortages

Job description

Join one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in the furniture industry. For over 25 years, Four Hands has been a leading designer and wholesaler of furniture and décor, helping people create spaces that feel like home.

Recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies and named one of Austin's Top Workplaces year after year. Four Hands is where passion meets purpose and where your next chapter begins.

We're on the lookout for a Logistics Coordinator to help keep our inbound ocean freight moving smoothly from origin ports to our distribution network. In this role, you'll manage the day-to-day movement of ocean containers from vessel arrival through final delivery, coordinating with steamship lines, rail ramps, drayage partners, and warehouse teams along the way. You'll play a key role in keeping shipments on schedule, managing transportation costs, and quickly resolving issues that could impact delivery. If you're highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is a great opportunity to make a direct impact on how we move product.

In This Role

  • Monitor ocean vessel arrivals, container availability, and rail schedules daily
  • Track ocean freight booking releases and confirmations, and maintain key milestones in the transportation management system
  • Maintain accurate transit times in the ERP to ensure receiving and planning teams have reliable arrival dates
  • Assign container pickups to approved drayage partners
  • Coordinate and schedule delivery appointments with warehouse receiving teams based on inbound capacity
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse receiving teams, aligning inbound flow with dock capacity and resolving delivery questions
  • Monitor port last free days and coordinate timely container pickup to minimize demurrage, per diem, and detention charges
  • Report detention and demurrage charges and exposure, tracking causes and trends to support cost prevention
  • Resolve logistics bottlenecks, including customs holds, gate congestion, and chassis shortages
  • Prepare and distribute a daily inbound shipment summary highlighting arrivals, exceptions, and priorities
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications
  • Uphold the Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands Team
    • Be open and honest
    • Reach for excellence
    • Act with responsibility
    • Value the whole person
    • Enjoy the journey

The Ideal Person

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in ocean import logistics, drayage coordination, or port operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems
  • Strong understanding of port terminal operations, steamship lines, rail ramps, and chassis pools
  • Excellent multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay organized and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
