Job description

The DC Operations Manager partners closely with the General Manager (GM) to develop and execute strategies that drive continuous improvement, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs. This role is responsible for leading a high-performing team, fostering talent development, and ensuring operational excellence across one or more key areas of the Distribution Center (DC), including:

  • Inbound Operations (Receiving and Reclamation)
  • Replenishment
  • Outbound Operations (Selection, Shipping, PDQ, E-Commerce)
  • Transportation
  • Customer Service
  • General Office Administration


Operating with limited supervision, the DC Operations Manager plays a critical role in sustaining organizational growth by attracting, retaining, and developing team members while supporting their career advancement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate regularly with the GM to review operational methods, staffing, and performance metrics; recommend and implement improvements as needed.
  • Lead a department of 150+ team members, overseeing budgeting, staffing, and P&L accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and reduce costs, maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and corporate partners.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and development for the management team, including both informal feedback and formal performance evaluations.
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings with department managers to align on goals, workloads, staffing, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).


Required Experience:

  • 5–10 years of leadership experience in warehouse or distribution center operations.
  • Proven background in material handling, inventory management, and team supervision.


Education & Skills:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
