Technical Manager Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to expand and lead our Nutanix Files team in Serbia. You will have a rare opportunity to architect, design and develop a Multi-Cloud/Hybrid Cloud data product, solving some of the most interesting challenges in the industry today, while providing leadership to a group of young, talented and high performing engineering team.

Nutanix Files is a software-defined scale-out file storage solution. It improves storage services by providing high availability, massive scale, simplified self-service management, self-tuning and self-healing. Unlike other Network-attached storage (NAS) solutions it can be deployed stand-alone or as part of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS.

The Nutanix Files team in Serbia was established in Spring of 2022, and has been constantly growing since then. As the manager of the team you will have a strong influence on future growth and development of the product and the team.

Your Role
  • Leading a team of engineers and setting engineering best practices;
  • Owning an engineering area of the Nutanix Files solution;
  • Hiring and attracting talent for your and other Nutanix teams;
  • Working with other engineering groups across geographies;
  • Taking part in leading the Nutanix Files organization in Serbia and driving the team culture.
  • Drive architecture and design decisions in the areas of replication and infrastructure.
What You Will Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in managing engineering teams;
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience working on developing Systems and/or Distributed software.
  • Technical leadership and passion for programming and a rock-solid coding foundation in one or more languages: C, C++, python, golang.
  • Understanding of UNIX/Linux.
  • Technical leadership and passion for programming.
  • Passion for building world-class engineering teams and culture;
  • Passion for system design;
  • Experience in engineering fundamentals and software design best practices.

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
