JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary:
Join our compassionate outpatient behavioral health nursing team in Antioch, Tennessee, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals seeking psychiatric and mental health support. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and no weekends, holidays, or evening shifts required. We are seeking a collaborative, patient-focused Registered Nurse who is organized, compassionate, adaptable, and passionate about supporting mental wellness within the community.

In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health assessments, medication management, patient education, phone triage, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic setting. You will work closely with providers, patients, and fellow healthcare professionals to promote positive treatment outcomes while supporting a welcoming and recovery-focused environment. Compensation is based on post-licensure experience and is expected to range from $32.69 to $36.09 per hour, with additional consideration possible for candidates with extensive relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive psychiatric and mental health assessments to support patient treatment planning and continuity of care
Administer and monitor psychiatric medications while evaluating effectiveness, side effects, compliance, and patient response
Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, wellness strategies, and behavioral health resources
Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, medical providers, therapists, and external healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes
Conduct phone triage and assist patients with medication-related concerns, prescription assistance programs, and prior authorizations
Monitor patient health status including vital signs, weights, nutritional concerns, and laboratory results while reporting abnormal findings appropriately
Perform CLIA waived laboratory testing, maintain quality control documentation, and support phlebotomy needs as required
Support employee health initiatives including influenza vaccination clinics and staff TB testing
Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Medical Assistants in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act and applicable regulations
Complete clinical documentation accurately and within organizational standards while maintaining patient confidentiality
Maintain compliance with mandatory trainings, ethical business practices, and organizational policies

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee required
CPR-BLS certification required
Minimum of six months to one year of psychiatric, behavioral health, or related mental health nursing experience preferred
Experience in outpatient nursing, medication management, patient triage, psychiatric care, behavioral health, or mental health services preferred

Demonstrate strong communication skills through written, verbal, in-person, and virtual interactions
Maintain the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and multidisciplinary treatment teams
Possess strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced or stressful situations
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical healthcare practices at all times
Exhibit basic computer proficiency and electronic documentation skills
Report to work consistently and complete assigned responsibilities within designated timeframes
