United Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg for a nursing job in Binghamton, New York.

United Health Services is seeking a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking. In this highly specialized role, the SAFE RN delivers comprehensive medical-forensic services, conducts forensic examinations, collects and preserves evidence, administers prophylactic medications, and supports patients through every step of their care journey with dignity, empathy, and professionalism. Working in accordance with New York State Department of Health guidelines, the SAFE RN collaborates closely with physicians, victim advocates, law enforcement, and other community partners to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about patient advocacy, crisis intervention, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families.

Sign-On Incentives

Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements.

Schedule

  • 24 or 36 hours per week

  • Day - rotational and Night shifts available

Required Qualifications and Skills 

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN). 

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, Women’s Health, or Pediatrics preferred. 

  • Certifications: Current BLS required; ACLS, PALS, SANE-A, AFN-C, LNCC preferred. 

  • Core Competencies: Exceptional communication skills, emotional resilience, strict adherence to patient confidentiality, and the ability to work independently under high-stress conditions.  

NYS Specific Training Requirements 

  • SAFE Certification: Must have successfully completed the NYS Department of Health-approved 40-hour SAFE training curriculum (or be willing to complete it within 3 months of hire). 

  • Clinical Preceptorship: Completion of required clinical preceptorship hours and pelvic examination competencies as mandated by NYS DOH for official SAFE designation.
