Job description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing receiving, in process and final inspection of vendor supplied and in house components/assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow quality processes and procedures to perform detailed inspection in receiving, in-process and final inspection to ensure products conform to customer requirements.
  • Perform AS9102 first article inspection and other extensive inspections per specifications & drawing requirements.
  • Document all inspections in accordance with Ametek procedures and processes
  • Ensure all raw materials received meet specifications.
  • Perform testing and inspection at various stages of production, including visual and dimensional inspection
  • Use handheld inspection tools for dimensional measurement purposes, such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparator, gage blocks, and dial indicators.
  • Conduct physical inspection of product with gauging such as: Thread gages, plug gages, pin gages, functional gages.
  • Communicate potential nonconforming situations to Quality Engineering and Quality Management
  • Create a rejection report for nonconforming product.
  • Understanding and working Knowledge of AS 9100/ISO-9001 quality systems specifications
  • Process documentation, scan, and file paperwork.
  • Blueprint and GD&T comprehension (ASME Y14.5).
  • Able to witness testing of articles to verify parameters found during test.
  • Familiar with solder inspection, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface mounted devices in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards
  • Experience in Aerospace and lean manufacturing.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs.  The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma, or GED

Experience:

5+ years of successful receiving and inspection experience

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer
  • Knowledge of uniPoint software is a plus
  • Hazardous Material Training is a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
