Job description


Position Summary: Quality Control ensures finished products meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements before shipment. They perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, using tools such as calipers and gauges to detect defects, verify documentation, and accept or reject the final product in accordance with company standards. They ensure all OPS coatings meet customer and industry standards. They execute required inspections defined by sampling plans to verify product conformity, with a focus on customer satisfaction.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Final Inspection: Perform comprehensive inspections of finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specs.

·         Documentation & Reporting: Document inspection results, including measurements, test outcomes, and pass/fail decisions. Create and manage inspection reports and certificates (e.g., AS9102 FAIRs).

·         Defect Detection: Identify, report, and document discrepancies, non-conformances, and defects, ensuring non-conforming materials are segregated.

·         Measurement & Testing: Use, calibrate, and maintain precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and testing equipment.

·         Compliance: Verify that all products adhere to established safety standards, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, MIL-SPEC), and internal SOPs.

·         Process Improvement: Recommend adjustments to production processes to reduce defects and improve product quality.

·         Communication: Coordinate with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues, providing feedback on deviations

·         Coating touch-up may be required – experience with, but not limited to, ChemFilm, Anodize, Nickel Plating, and Paint.

Qualifications:

·         Experience and Education:

    • 5 years of relevant experience
    • High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training
  • Technical Skills:
    • Blueprint comprehension
    • Experience using calipers, thread gauges, and other inspection tools as required
    • Experience with aerospace/defense parts a plus
    • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements (Mil-Specs, NADCAP, AS9100)
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Sense of urgency
    • Punctual and reliable
    • Basic computer skills
    • Problem-solving abilities
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to use measuring equipment
    • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
    • Understand and obey safety requirements
    • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
    • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
    •  Capable of standing for long periods
