Job description

Job Summary

Parker is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector 3 to perform in-process and final inspections of electronic and mechanical subassemblies, assemblies, and electronic systems.

The role requires strong experience inspecting electronic assemblies to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards, interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, and using precision inspection and measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, receiving, first article, and final inspections of electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Inspect wiring, cables, harnesses, components, hardware, solder joints, and subassemblies for assembly and workmanship defects.
  • Verify assemblies against drawings, schematics, blueprints, specifications, shop orders, and parts lists.
  • Identify missing hardware, incorrect assembly, wiring errors, soldering defects, alignment issues, and surface defects.
  • Trace cable and harness assemblies against wiring diagrams to verify proper routing, connections, lacing, and insulation.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and product conformity.
  • Inspect plated areas for uniformity and thickness.
  • Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Witness in-process and acceptance testing of assemblies and electronic systems.
  • Review production documentation to ensure required assembly, inspection, and testing steps were completed.
  • Record inspection results, including serial numbers, defect types, defect percentages, and required rework.
  • Calculate defective-part percentages and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Keep inspection equipment and workstations clean and organized.
  • Perform additional inspection-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–6 years of relevant electronics inspection experience.
  • Some mechanical inspection experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly inspection and workmanship standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Engineering drawings
    • Electrical/electronic schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Blueprints
    • Specifications and procedures
  • Experience using standard inspection and precision measurement equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to identify problems and apply sound judgment in standardized inspection situations.

Preferred Qualification

  • J-STD-001 Certification
