Job description

The Quality Inspector performs various receiving inspections, in-process inspections, verification of completed paperwork, identifying non-conformance issues, final product inspection and checking dimensions of production detail parts and assemblies using hand tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers and height gauge. Basic AS9102, First article skills. Inspectors should be proficient in blueprint reading as well as specification interpretation and be able to apply these skills to preform first article inspection using in-house programs such as Inspection Xpert and Net Inspect. The Inspector should be able to identify drawing revision changes as well as purchase order requirements. Basic knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of AS9100 guidelines is required.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions.
  2. Ensure procedures and work instructions are followed, resolving quality related issues with internal or external customers.
  3. Perform receiving, in process, and final inspection, as required.
  4. Generate required reports, perform verifications, tracking of data and recommendation of process improvements
  5. Verify incoming product to ensure purchase orders and customer requirements are met.
  6. Verify assemblies meet all customer requirements.
  7. Ensure that instruments used for product acceptance are in calibration prior to use.
  8. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances per established procedures.
  9. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  10. Create AS9102 cert packages for FAIRs, when required.
  11. Create a Detailed Inspection Plan using designated software.

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Ability to understand customer specifications and requirements.
  2. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as blueprint reading.
  3. Experience with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001, Certification preferred.
  4. Skilled using measuring equipment, such as scales, calipers, micrometers, hand tools.
  5. Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  6. Experience with AS9100, and AS9102.
  7. Knowledge of FAI's, DIP's, and Net Inspect.
  8. Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  9. Good organizational skills.
