Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies Company, seeking an Inspector. The Inspector performs detailed inspections on rocket motor components and assemblies under close supervision. Responsible for strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Receives on-the-job training in inspection techniques, safety and Quality System Requirements (AS9100). This position requires employees to enter the manufacturing areas.

Essential Functions:

  • 60% - Verification of weighing raw materials and perform inspections on rocket motor mixes and assemblies under the supervision of higher-level inspectors.
  • 30% - Writing Inspection Report (IR) cards, Nonconformance's (NC), etc. used for traceability.ย  ย 
  • 10% - Entering shipping data, NCs, and Maestro entries on the computer on all programs.
  • Follows established processes (SOP's) to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Resolves most issues.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected.

ย Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
  • Able to maintain 5S+1 work area and implement and enforce Lean manufacturing principles.

Education:

Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with preparing and handling documentation. May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
  • Ensure raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company and test standards.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Document management, or equivalent, software.
  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in process or final assemblies.
