Job Title: Quality Manager
Reporting to: Business Unit General Manager (Line) / Regional Functional Manager
Role purpose
The Quality Manager will lead the implementation and oversight of quality assurance practices across projects within the business unit. This operational role ensures compliance with ISO standards, supports project delivery teams, and drives continuous improvement in quality performance and customer satisfaction.
The role requires regular engagement with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that quality standards are consistently applied and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires strong operational oversight, regular site presence (50% travel), and close collaboration with Business Unit management, project management and teams, subcontractors, and other functions.
Responsibilities & Duties
Operational Oversight
โ€ข Act as the focal point for all quality-related matters across assigned projects.
โ€ข Support the implementation and compliance of the Omexom Management System and ISO 9001 standards.
โ€ข Assist project teams in developing and applying Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring they are followed and documented.
โ€ข Ensure appropriate levels of quality surveillance, inspection, and control are applied throughout project execution.
Compliance & Reporting
โ€ข Act as the focal point for all quality-related matters across assigned projects.
โ€ข Support the implementation and compliance of the Omexom Management System and ISO 9001 standards.
โ€ข Assist project teams in developing and applying Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring they are followed and documented.

Stakeholder Engagement

โ€ข Ensure compliance with Omexom and client quality procedures and expectations.
Continuous Improvement
โ€ข Identify gaps in the management system and support the development of improved processes.
โ€ข Lead and support initiatives to enhance the Quality Management System and Omexom ways of working.
โ€ข Stay informed of changes in standards and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and innovation.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
The jobholder shall be a motivated self-starter, possessing:
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role

โ€ข CQI Quality in Construction or equivalent
โ€ข IRCA Lead Auditor qualification, ISO 9001
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. CQI,) preferred.
  • Experience in a quality role within construction or infrastructure.
  • Experience managing non-conformances and conducting root cause analysis

โ€ข Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
โ€ข Recognised training in accident/incident investigation
โ€ข Experience supporting quality deliverables at project level
Competencies
Required skills, knowledge, and abilities:
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental reporting tools.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
