General Statement
Museum of the Rockies is an independent 501©(3) nonprofit, a division of Montana State University, a Smithsonian Affiliate, and an accredited member of the American Alliance of Museums. Located in Bozeman, Montana, the museum inspires curiosity through world-class exhibitions in paleontology, cultural history, science, and astronomy, serving visitors of all ages while advancing research, education, and community engagement. The marketing department operates as a full-service marketing agency for the museum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the intake, prioritization, scheduling, and execution of graphic design projects across multiple departments.
- Design and produce print, digital, social media, photo, video, and website promotional materials.
- Coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, printers, and media partners.
- Maintain and enforce brand standards across all communications.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within established guidelines.
- Maintain organized content libraries and assets.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of professional graphic design experience creating digital advertising, social media, and video content.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience creating assets for social media, digital advertising, and web platforms.
- Experience with website content management systems and digital marketing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Five or more years of professional graphic design experience.
- Experience managing creative workflows or project management systems.
- Experience working in higher education, museums, nonprofit organizations, or cultural institutions.
- Familiarity with ADA accessibility and inclusive design principles.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple platforms.

Physical Demands
- Work at a computer for extended periods.
