Job description

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom forgings, is looking for a CNC Setup Operator at our Rockford, IL location. FRG produces steel solutions for a variety of industries through forging, hot forming, and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine setup, start up, operation and tear down
  • Secure all tooling, replace broken or worn tooling
  • File, grind, and adjust parts to fit properly
  • Keep multiple machines running simultaneously
  • Diagnose operating difficulties and make adjustments
  • Inspect dies for proper dimensions and defects
  • Complete necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety and quality standards

Experience and Skills Preferred:

  • Ability to read and use calipers and similar measurement tools to the ten-thousandth place
  • Experience reading and interpret blueprints preferred
  • Experience in operating and setting up X, Y, Z on vertical mills preferred
  • Shop math calculating ability
  • Experience with different cutting tools and their purposes
  • Experience using indicators to straighten parts/items
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to take direction
  • Must be able to grasp and retain complex instructions
  • Willingness to ask for clarification of instructions
  • Reliability, punctuality, and attentiveness
