The core responsibilities of this role include safely operating an industrial forklift, performing material handler job duties to include loading and unloading, stacking, staging and palletizing products.

Position: Rail Switch Operator

-AM Shift: (Plant) 5am-;5:30pm, Day shift rotates on a 3-2-2 schedule

Starting Pay:$25.25 per hour.

AM Shift Weekend differential of $1.00/HR for Saturday and Sunday shifts worked.

In addition to the general job description below, the ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and/or experience:

-Forklift experience is necessary for qualified candidates with good work history.
-Forklift positions will require safely operating a clamp truck, as well as perform material handler job duties to include loading and unloading, stacking and staging product from rail cars.

-Safely oversee movement and staging of rail cars

Role Purpose:

Responsible for safe, accurate, timely movement and spotting of railcars as a switchman. Responsible for safe operation of railswitching equipment such as locomotive, switch engine, or similar type rail switching equipment. Responsible for railcar movement using a switching diagram, switchlist, or other form of railcar movement instructions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Move inbound and outbound railcars using rail switching equipment such as locomotive engine or Trackmobile type of equipment.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must understand production schedule and keep inventory of railcars.
  • May be required to perform loading/unloading railcar functions.
