The Accountant plays a key role in supporting accounting operations across multiple entities by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting project accounting activities, and delivering timely financial information that helps drive operational and business decisions.Tarkett Sports Construction Central is part of Tarkett Sports. Help us build the next world-class venue.What You'll DoAs an Accountant, you will support the financial operations of multiple entities by maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting project accounting activities, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls.Accounting Operations
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities.
  • Process billings and accounts payable transactions for the architectural services entity.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations for review by the Controller.
  • Assist with the upload and validation of trial balances within corporate consolidation software.
  • Investigate and resolve intercompany variances, reporting discrepancies, and submission exceptions.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedule maintenance.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as part of monthly and annual close cycles.
Project Accounting Support
  • Assist with maintaining accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and over/under billing reports.
  • Support project accounting activities in accordance with percentage-of-completion accounting principles.
  • Prepare progress billings and project-related invoices for the architectural services business.
  • Analyze aging reports and assist with collections activities across multiple entities.
  • Ensure project costs are accurately coded and allocated to the appropriate jobs and cost codes.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to obtain supporting documentation, validate cost allocations, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Adhere to Tarkett Group internal control requirements and accounting policies.
  • Maintain organized and complete supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
  • Identify and communicate unusual transactions, reporting concerns, or control exceptions to the Controller.
  • Support compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
Reporting & Financial Analysis
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling financial data and preparing variance analyses.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Respond to internal requests for financial information and assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Support management decision-making through timely and accurate financial reporting.
What You Need for SuccessEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity, project-based, or construction environment.
  • Construction accounting experience is required.
  • Professional services accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and project accounting activities.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
  • Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Experience in multi-entity reporting environments is a plus.
  • Strong systems aptitude and ability to work across multiple financial platforms.
Accounting Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Working knowledge of construction accounting concepts, including:
    • Percentage-of-completion accounting
    • Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
    • Retainage accounting
    • Over/under billings
    • Job costing and project reporting
  • Understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
