Job description

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift. Hours will be primarily Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. No weekend rotation is required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Music Therapist to:

  • Perform assessments of patients and families to identify needs in order to set short and/or long-term goals
  • Utilize knowledge of pediatric growth and development to guide interactions across age and developmental levels
  • Provide music therapy interventions that are goal-oriented, support evidence-based practice, and are patient and family focused
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and modify care based on results
  • Work closely with patient, family, and health care team in order to develop and implement a patient-specific treatment plan
  • Communicate relevant patient care information and work as an integrative member of a patient's health care team to promote continuity of care

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy, Music, or a related field and/or completion of the degree equivalency program in Music Therapy as required by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Required
  • Master's Degree in Music Therapy Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3 months working or volunteering with children Required
  • 6 months working with children in a healthcare/hospital setting Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) Upon Hire Required
