In the role of Groundwater Modeler/Hydrogeologist we'll count on you to:

  • Work under more-senior modelers, using prescribed methods in various data analysis and modeling assignments as part of groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modeling projects.
  • Evaluate groundwater movement, contaminant fate and transport, groundwater supplies, and land subsidence due to over withdrawal of groundwater
  • Acquire, organize and analyze environmental data
  • Set up and execute mathematical models
  • Perform quality-control checks on model input and results
  • Participate in project meetings, proposal preparation, report writing and presentations
  • Develop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and data

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in hydrogeology or environmental engineering (with a focus on groundwater modeling or hydrogeologic processes) preferred
  • Experience conducting groundwater modeling, working with modeling programs like MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS and model processing software such as GMS or Groundwater Vistas required, however, would consider strong candidate with a directly relevant
  • Masters with required experience in modeling programs and mathematical software with academic related experience in modeling
  • Experience with mathematical software such as Python, MatLab and R
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of hydrogeological processes and principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates who reside locally in the Philadelphia area are preferred
  • Previous field experience collecting groundwater data preferred
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification are a plus

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
