Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrical BIM Modeler in Pataskala, OH. The Electrical BIM Modeler is responsible for developing detailed 3D digital models of electrical systems for large-scale construction projects, with a primary focus on Data Center and Hyperscale environments. The ideal candidate will excel at translating engineering drawings into spatially accurate models, ensuring that all equipment and low-voltage systems are placed to scale with precise clearances.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $48,000 to $65,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 3D digital models of electrical systems for complex construction projects.
  • Translate engineering drawings, including one-lines and panel schedules, into spatially accurate digital models.
  • Model low-voltage systems specifically for Data Center and Hyperscale environments, including fiber and telecom.
  • Place devices, fixtures, and equipment to scale while maintaining correct dimensions and required clearances.
  • Develop models for Medium Voltage (MV) and power distribution systems.
  • Coordinate fire alarm, lighting, and branch power system layouts within the BIM environment.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure design intent and constructability are reflected in the digital model.
  • Update and maintain models throughout the project lifecycle to reflect field changes and design revisions.
  • Review models for clashes and resolve design conflicts with other trades.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in electrical BIM modeling, specifically within the electrical construction field.
  • Strong proficiency in translating complex engineering drawings and one-lines into 3D models.
  • Specific experience with Data Center or Hyperscale low-voltage systems including fiber and telecom.
  • Technical knowledge of power distribution, Medium Voltage (MV), and fire alarm system layouts.
  • High proficiency in modeling electrical equipment with accuracy regarding scale and clearances.
  • Working knowledge of BIM software platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Ability to understand and interpret construction documents and shop drawings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to spend multiple hours looking at a computer screen.
  • Specific vision abilities required for close-up computer work and model review.
  • Occasionally required to stand, reach, stoop, or kneel.
  • May need to occasionally travel to job sites for model verification.
