Elementary Emergent Literacy Specialist, Grades 3 - 5, (1.0 FTE), Full-Time, Temporary
This position is anticipated to begin August 31, 2026 and end June 21, 2027.
This position will be located at the District Office.ย

Position Summary:
This position will focus on setting up systems and creating resources and Professional Development to support Elementary Literacy in Dual Language Immersion classrooms. Some classroom coaching may occur as well.
The employee serves as a teacher leader and specialist in emergent literacy best practices and facilitates professional development related to the classroom and district's instruction and curriculum goals aligned with demonstrated instructional/professional needs. As a leader and specialist, the employee works with the Early Learning Coordinator, Teaching Learning and Professional Development and K-2 classroom teachers by identifying, developing, and implementing curriculum, assessment and instructional strategies designed to improve student learning in literacy. ย Instructional specialists share in the responsibility for student safety andย  appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including neededย  guidance, discipline, and welfare.ย 
License Requirement:
Must hold or be able to obtain Oregon Educator licensure with a Subject Matter Endorsement specific to the content area taught in this position (i.e. must hold biology endorsement if teaching biology).

Salary:

PLEASE NOTE: North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. ย Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year:

  • Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract).ย  Initial placement based on education, experience.
  • This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE.ย  Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.
  • Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.
  • ย As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive:

    • A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
    • A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement Contribution:

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
